Mary Luczki was born hard-of-hearing is now Deaf. Her entire family is Deaf, except for the dog, who learned sign language as well. She went to Michigan School for the Deaf (MSD) briefly and graduated from Flint Northern High School in Michigan.
Mary has worked as a freelance ASL interpreter for most of her life. She teaches ASL classes, seminars and workshops, and mentored sign language interpreters for over 30 years.
She has spent many years analyzing the differences between English and ASL and the difference of Hearing and Deaf interactions. She has devised workshops for Deaf, Hearing and Interpreters on a variety of topics. Being a user of interpreters and a teacher, as well as being bilingual, has enabled her to help people learn and understand the dynamics of ASL better.
