RIT on TV News: Alum Stars on Amazing Race
You must be logged in to view this video. You can join here. 13WHAM-TV previews the upcoming season of the CBS series The Amazing Race, featuring RIT/NTID alumnus Luke Adams and his mom.
There's a Rochester connection to the newest season of The Amazing Race. 2007 RIT graduate Luke Adams and his mom Margie will compete on season 14. Luke is the first deaf racer to compete on the show. Luke lives back home in Colorado now. He says he hopes this opportunity allows him to be a role model to the deaf community.
Luke: A lot of deaf people think you can't go on TV, or shouldn't apply for different things. I want to give deaf people hope, that's what I want to do.
The duo believes their ability to communicate with sign-will be an advantage in the competion.
